Functions

1.Power transmission: The connecting rod links the piston and crankshaft. It converts the reciprocating linear motion of the piston from combustion pressure into rotary motion of the crankshaft, transferring mechanical power out to drive the engine and machine operation.

2.Load bearing: It withstands cyclic compressive and tensile forces generated during engine combustion and piston movement, sustaining high pressure and impact loads continuously under working conditions.

3.Position guidance: Keeps the piston aligned properly inside the cylinder bore, preventing piston tilting, offset friction and abnormal wear of piston and cylinder liner.

4.Heat transfer: Transfers partial heat from the piston to the crankshaft and engine lubrication oil system for heat dissipation.
