Key functions

1.Withstand combustion pressure & convert power The crown forms the top boundary of combustion chamber. It directly bears huge explosion pressure from diesel combustion, transfers downward force to piston skirt, piston pin, connecting rod, then converts thermal energy into mechanical power to drive crankshaft rotation.

2.Shape combustion chamber & optimize fuel mixing The concave bowl on crown top guides fuel spray, forms air swirl, improves fuel-air mixing to achieve full combustion, raises engine power and reduces fuel consumption.

3.Heat absorption & thermal transfer Absorb extreme high temperature from combustion gas. Internal oil cooling gallery carries heat away via engine lubricating oil, prevents crown overheating, thermal crack and melting.

4.Gas sealing (hold piston rings) Ring grooves machined on the outer diameter of piston crown install piston rings. The rings seal combustion gas, stop high-pressure gas leaking down to crankcase, maintain cylinder compression pressure.

5.Structural load sharing Two-piece split design: crown takes heat and explosion load; skirt guides piston straight movement inside cylinder bore, bears side thrust, prevents piston tilting and scuffing cylinder liner.
