| 1.Seal the rod-end chamber of the cylinder barrel |
| Closes the front opening of the cylinder tube to form a sealed rod-side hydraulic chamber, preventing high-pressure hydraulic oil from leaking outward from the gap between piston rod and cylinder barrel. It works together with piston seals to maintain pressure difference inside the cylinder. |

| The head body processes mounting grooves for: |
| Rod main seal (prevents external oil leakage) |
| Wiper dust seal (blocks mud, sand, rock dust from entering the cylinder, protects rod surface & inner seals) |
| Buffer seal / wear ring (absorb shock and reduce friction) |
| O-ring between cylinder head and barrel (barrel end static seal) |

| 3.Guide and support the piston rod |
| Integrated or embedded guide bushing inside the cylinder head provides radial support for the reciprocating piston rod. It bears lateral side loads generated during excavator arm digging, pulling and swinging, avoiding direct contact between rod and cylinder barrel and preventing rod bending and barrel scoring. |

| 4.Withstand cyclic high hydraulic pressure & impact loads |
| During arm crowd / arm dump operations, the gland continuously bears alternating high system pressure (typical excavator main working pressure: 26–33 MPa) and frequent impact loads from excavation. High-strength forged alloy steel structure ensures structural integrity without deformation or cracking. |

| 5.Assembly and maintenance interface |
| It is a detachable component. After removing the cylinder head, technicians can replace all rod-side seals without fully taking apart piston & barrel assembly, greatly simplifying cylinder overhaul. |
