• Function

1.Sealing: The piston ring set is installed in the piston ring groove and closely fits with the cylinder wall to prevent the high - temperature and high - pressure gas in the combustion chamber from leaking into the crankcase. This function is mainly performed by the compression rings (gas rings). By minimizing gas leakage, the engine's thermal efficiency can be improved, ensuring that the fuel - air mixture is compressed sufficiently and the pressure leakage during the power stroke is minimized, thus enhancing the engine's power output.

2.Oil Control: The oil ring in the piston ring set is responsible for this function. When the piston moves downward, the oil ring scrapes off the excessive lubricating oil on the cylinder wall to prevent the oil from entering the combustion chamber and participating in combustion, avoiding problems such as oil consumption and carbon deposition. When the piston moves upward, the oil ring evenly distributes a thin layer of oil film on the cylinder wall to lubricate the cylinder, piston, and piston rings, reducing frictional wear and ensuring the normal operation of each component.
