The Swing drive reducer gearbox rotates the top of the Excavator on the chassis together with the slewing gear bearing.

Key Functions

1.Torque Amplification: Uses multi-stage planetary gears to multiply hydraulic motor torque, enabling the 20–30 ton excavator upper structure to rotate under heavy load.

2.Speed Reduction: Slows down the swing motor’s high RPM (typically 1,500–3,000 RPM) to a safe working swing speed

3.Load Holding: Integrates a mechanical brake (often a wet multi-disc brake) to lock the upper structure in place when not rotating, preventing unintended movement on slopes.

4.Power Transmission: Transmits power from the swing hydraulic motor to the swing bearing (slew ring) that connects upper and lower frames.
